On the occasion of the centenary celebrations of the 1919 total solar 

eclipse in which two British expeditions proved Einstein right, the exhibition connected this well known event of the history of science, involving first rate figures such as Einstein and Eddington, to the national and local contexts which made the travels of the astronomers possible. The central role of Lisbon and the community of astronomers of the Astronomical Observatory of Lisbon was highlighted. link

Tuberculose e Património 

Curators: José Carlos Avelãs Nunes; Paula Saraiva; José Luís Doria; João Duarte. Comemorações do Dia Internacional da Tuberculose e colóquio Tuberculose: história e memória, IHMT, Univ. Nova de Lisboa, September 2017.

This exhibition focuses on the Portuguese panorama of the fight against tuberculosis, in particular through its representative images. The sanatoria are the protagonists of the possible cure, through its architecture and as spaces of technoscience. The city of Lisbon is very represented, through its buildings (whether built or just designed), especially with the megalomaniac project of the Grande Sanatório de Lisboa.

Exploration of the two urban utopias published in 1906 in , one by the engineer Melo de Matos’ “Ciência no ano 2000” and the other by the writer Fialho de Almeida’s “Lisboa Monumental”, concerning both their visions for Lisbon and for its counterpart, an industrial city to be developed on the other side of the river Tagus. link
